Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21
When OR launched in June of 2013, we had no way of knowing where the ministry would go. To be honest, there were days when I wondered if it would survive. Now it’s 2023, which means Operation Resolute is 10 years old and, in that time, we have had the honor of serving dozens of chaplains and over 7,000 Soldiers, Airmen, Marines and family members.
We know that after OR events warriors have asked for help in dealing with marital issues; some have stepped away from suicide; others accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. Trust has been built; support has been sought; lives and families have been saved. A lot has been accomplished in 10 years, but we think God is just getting started.
Before 2023 is out, we will break ground on The Refuge, which is what we’re calling our lodge on the Pungo River. This will be a place where chaplains can have even more opportunities to engage their people. We are also working with partners in Georgia and Texas who will expand the mission of OR to those states by hosting events this fall. I could never have imagined where God would take us in 10 years, but then again, he is able to do far more abundantly than all that I ask or think.
My praise goes to God for what he has done since those early days in 2013. My thanks goes to all of you for supporting OR’s mission with your time, your talent and your treasure.
